The Day After

I'm sure that many of you, as I did, had a long and somewhat restless night. Yesterday was intense to say the least. As I went to bed I felt nauseous as I felt as soon as I woke up this morning. But then.....my precious, Godly husband had a real word of reminder for me. It wasn't something I didn't already know, but just needed to be reminded of. None of these election results take our God by surprise. He hasn't stepped off of His throne and forgotten about us. James reminded me that now that the decision had been made, even though it is not the outcome we hoped or prayed for, we had a job now as Christians and God is expecting us to do what is right. Our job now that is clearly layed out in His word is to pray for the new president elect. Prayer has not lost it's power and God certainly hasn't lost His. God can do great things and use anyone to accomplish them if we pray. For those that are somewhat stubborn as I am, it's hard for me to even say his name right now, much less want to pray for him, but that's what I'm headed to my quiet time spot to do and I encourage you to do the same. My feelings about the man cannot change last nights results. The decision has been made. But my prayers can change my heart and help our country. So now is not the time to stop praying as I've done so hard for our country leading up to this election. Now it's time to pray even harder.

(Read the lyrics to the song I posted last month! God is still God!!!)

I Timothy 2:1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. ...

Election Day

Tomorrow is one of the most critical days in the life of our country that I have seen to date. I plead with all Christians to get out and take part in the process. I was in shock as I heard yesterday how in the last presidential election only about half of the 60 million evangelical Christians in America voted. That is pitiful! Yet I hear complaint after complaint in those same circles about decisions being made in our country. If we don't get up and take part in the process then we have no right to complain. If you are unsure who to vote for then get online tonight and educate yourself on the candidates and the issues they support. As a christian it should not be hard to decide after reading those. How any christian could possibly believe in the bible and vote for Obama makes no sense to me.

The other thing we need to do besides vote is PRAY!!!! That is where the power is! 2 Chronicles 7:14 says that, "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Christians....vote and PRAY!!!!

Halloween 2008

This halloween proved to be an eventful one! I had surgery, so needless to say I was a little out of the whole costume fun, although the pretty gown, socks and hat they made me wear in the hospital was about as scary as any costume I could have come up with on my own. Thankfully, we had planned ahead. One of Emily's and my favorite past times is watching "I Love Lucy!" It is not uncommon for James to hear us in the other room laughing hysterically at another one of Lucy's red headed schemes. So.....Emily dressed up as our favorite red head, and boy was she cute!!! Dana was happy that she didn't have to go to school that day because dressing up in a costume would not be one of her favorite things to do....hence the reason for no dress up pictures of her!!! But she did look very cute in her little orange shirt that said, "Boo!" Unfortunately the camera did not make it to the hospital with us to capture her in that outfit, and thankfully not me in mine either!!!

"Vit-a-meat-a-vegimen" One of our favorite episodes!

What a cute red head!
